Worldwide Universities Network at Illinois

The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign is a founding member of the Worldwide Universities Network and we are delighted to have worked from our inception with this international leader in education, research and innovation. We continually strive to provide Illinois’ students and faculty with the tools and resources to help generate new and extend exising activities on a global basis. And we are delighted to be working with leading faculty and the brightest and best students in peer universities around the world.

In this context the WUN Illinois website is really about you – your ambitions and your achievements …it plays a particular role in showcasing the really innovative, international and interdisciplinary projects, events and research that have come out of our global collaborations so that they can be celebrated by the Illinois community and beyond. For instance, we are proud to feature the many Illinois students that have travelled to WUN partners around the world as part of the Research Mobility Programme, and we have captured some of the lasting memories, scholarly insights, and contribution of remarkable mentors found in host universities. Many Illinois faculty and administrators also participate in WUN steering committees and are critical to the success of trans-national projects and conferences.

We in WUN are delighted at the opportunity to deepen our partnership with this great university. I hope you will increasingly wish to utilize WUN to take forward interesting projects and share with us the successes of events, and that you will allow us to share these successes broadly with people through this dedicated website.

Go Illini!

With warmest regards,
Dr. David Pilsbury
Chief Executive Officer, WUN

We at Illinois are very proud to be a founding member of the WUN and as we look to the future our relationship with the WUN and associated institutions will be a key element of our international growth. We look to the WUN and its partners for support and insight as we pursue our goals of comprehensive internationalization of Illinois’ campus and the expansion of our international research, teaching and service missions.

Our commitment to the WUN will continue to deepen as we successfully orchestrate the Illinois-WUN International Development Grant Program with which we hope to launch many new, important collaborations among Illinois and our WUN partners.

As Associate Provost for International Affairs, I am tasked with setting the international vision and goals for our great institution. I look forward to continuing my participation in WUN initiatives and championing the organization on our campus and others.

Kindest regards,
William Brustein
Associate Provost for International Affairs
