This is the second in a series of workshops focusing on enterprise being held in Chicago, Leeds and Zhejiang in 2007-08.

The ambition is to explore aspects of practice and research and developing entrepreneurship skills in the context of the distinctive requirements to develop global entrepreneurs. We are defining global entrepreneurs as individuals and organisations equipped to work across geographical, political and economic boundaries to accelerate the development of innovative research, systems and products. Increasingly creative adaptable and cross-cultural individuals are needed to develop new types of relationships, partnerships and organisations that are based on extensive trans-national collaborations.

This conference will address the profound impact that entrepreneurship has on globalization, cultural change, technology, and social issues. How is the world around us adapting to economic change? What role are entrepreneurs taking in this new marketplace, and what role do Universities play in providing challenging and innovative entrepreneurship curriculum?

Select faculty members will have the opportunity to present entrepreneurial concepts and research based papers, that center around conference themes. Social entrepreneurship presentations and discussion will address best practices for the creation of not-for-profit enterprises and the far reaching effects of their social impact.
